(2) Rebalance Portfolio
The rebalance process will check each parameter to make sure they
are in the range defined. If they are not, the rebalance will adjust it by
creating some sell or buy transactions. For example, if the industry weighting
limit is broken as the price change, the rebalance process will create some
partial sell order to adjust the industry weighting. Thereafter, it checks the
sell rules, if there is any stocks meet the sell rules, then sell-off the
positions. The final checking is the buy rule check, if there are any stocks
meet the buy rules and there are available cash, and then allocate the new
positions. The Figure 3. below described the rebalance process. Figure 4. shows
an example of rebalance results. As you can see, the two stocks (ZOLL, MIDD)
are sold off due to the sell rule of Trend rank. The trend ranks for both
stocks have fallen below 70. The cash came from the sells is used for buy new
positions. The proposed transactions are optional, you can reject some of the
transactions, and then you need to recalculate the allocations.
